Moustapha Mounah is the Director of Research for Westminster Financial Companies, Inc., where he also serves as a Lead Portfolio Manager and a Member of the Investment Policy Committee (IPC) and the Investment Company Counsel (ICC). Moustapha continues to develop the research capabilities of the firm by introducing new custom market indicators and enhancing our bottom-up security selection process. He is also the lead portfolio manager of our new Dynamic Growth strategy.

Before joining Westminster, Moustapha held the position of Portfolio Manager at James Investment Research, where he managed $70 million in client assets. Additionally, he was a Member of the Investment Committee and served as a Lead Researcher responsible for various investment aspects including the Macroeconomic & Market Outlook, Asset Allocation, Sector Research, Bottom-Up Security Selection, and Duration and Quality Management of Fixed Income Strategies. With nearly a decade of experience in researching stock and bond markets and managing high net-worth client assets, Moustapha brings a wealth of expertise to his role.

Prior to his tenure at James Investment Research, Moustapha worked as a Petroleum Engineer with Schlumberger oilfield services in Norway. In this role, he executed and provided various multi-thousand-dollar logging services to deliver sub-surface information on offshore rigs for clients such as Equinor, Shell, ExxonMobil, and others.

Moustapha holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering and a Master of Science in Mineral and Energy Economics from the Colorado School of Mines. Additionally, he obtained a Master of Science in Petroleum Economics and Management from IFP School (Institut Français du Pétrole) in Paris, France, and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He is also a CFA® Charterholder, certified by the CFA Institute, and an Energy Risk Professional (ERP) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

 

Moustapha resides in Dayton, Ohio, with his wife and their 5-year-old son. In his leisure time, he enjoys family activities, playing sports such as volleyball, tennis, and soccer, as well as indulging in reading economic literature and listening to music.
